Chelsea given chance to sign £51.5M star – Ace offered to Alonso!

Chelsea have reportedly been offered the opportunity to sign Sporting Lisbon defender Maxi Araujo as new head coach Xabi Alonso continues to reshape his squad ahead of next season.

The Blues are expected to be active in the transfer market this summer, with Alonso looking to build a squad capable of competing for major trophies. Reports suggest Araujo has emerged as a possible target, with Chelsea monitoring the Uruguay international after his impressive performances in Portugal.

Araujo, who can operate as a left-back, wing-back or further forward on the left side, has developed a reputation as one of Sporting’s most exciting attacking defenders. His versatility could appeal to Alonso, who is known for demanding tactical flexibility from his players.

CHELSEA’s interest comes as the club continues to look at options to strengthen the defensive areas of the squad. Araujo’s ability to contribute at both ends of the pitch could make him an attractive option for a manager who wants his full-backs to play a key role in possession and attacking transitions.
