Mark Noble says that he hopes Declan Rice will remain with West Ham for the foreseeable future, with Chelsea linked with a move.
It is no secret that we are keen to try and secure some sort of transfer deal for the young midfielder, as they reportedly see him as an upgrade to the ageing Ngolo Kante.
It is firmly believed that we will seek to offload a number of players in the coming transfer window in order to help raise some transfer funds, with reports suggesting a big £60 million offer may be made by the hierarchy.
But as rumours continue linking Rice to some of England’s biggest clubs, Noble says he remains hopeful that he may be able to call Rice a team-mate for the foreseeable future, but he does understand how difficult it will be for that to be a reality.
“He’s still learning his trade, he’ll get much better with experience. I’m hoping it’s here [at West Ham] but in this game you never know,” Noble told TalkSport.
“I’m sure he’ll be a top, top player and an even better player in years to come.”
If we do make some sort of transfer offer in the January window, it will be very interesting to see just what the midfielders decide to do as the player would certainly improve the current Blues squad.
He needs to make that step up in his career and play for a club like ours, he would give the midfield a bit more quality defensively.
There is alot of pressure on the shoulders of Frank Lampard, despite all the signings that he has made. So even though we hope that he does not get the sack from the club, we also want to see the club winning games and signing top-class players.
