Chelsea news: midfielder tells Blues fans ‘it is special’ for him to move

Ruben Loftus-Cheek admits it is “special” for him to be able to “break away” from Chelsea after joining AC Milan for £15 million ($19m).
He was once tipped to be a real star for the club – but he was unable to live upto the hype that surrounded him as a kid – and although he has been a solid player – he has never quite made that starting spot his own at the club.
That led to many reports in the media that AC Milan were interested in a deal for the midfielder – and only after a few days of talking – the Italians and the club agreed on a fee for the star.
Loftus-Cheek signs a four-year deal at the Italian giants after spending 19 years at Stamford Bridge, And now he has admitted that this is a special move for him to make.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
The 27-year-old said: “It’s a special feeling for me, it’s a new chapter. I was at Chelsea for 20 years of my life, this is a special time for me to finally break away from the club, start a new chapter in my life and for it to be at AC Milan is incredible.
“To have the opportunity to play here at San Siro, this huge club, with the history it has, the legends that have played for the club, it’s an honour to put on this shirt.”
WAS IT THE RIGHT MOVE TO LEAVE Chelsea ?
We have said it before and we will say it again – this is a massive move for Loftus-Cheek to make as AC Milan are still one of the biggest clubs in the world and a side that will compete for big titles.
His time here was over and it was definitely the right time to leave
