Blue Friday! Isco message, Werner deal on and Sarri wants striker in Chelsea daily roundup

Here is todays Chelsea news and gossip from IcChelseanews guys, hope you enjoy.

RB Leipzig have told Chelsea transfer target Timo Werner to sign or new deal or face being sold this summer.

Werner is regarded as one of the finest talents in the Bundesliga and already has 13-goals in just 21-appearances for the German side, stats that have attracted a number of Europes biggest clubs.

After sealing a deal for Liverpool target in the form of Christian Pulisic, we may now decide to switch their attentions to Werner after learning that Leipzig have told him to sign a deal of he is being sold.

Chief executive Oliver Mintzlaff told Kicker: ‘Of course we have to know at the latest after the end of the season.

‘A club like us cannot afford to go with Timo Werner in a final contract year.

‘It’s logical that such a player should be courted by clubs that have a very different sporting perspective and different financial possibilities than we have.

‘But as long as we develop as a club, and of course the Champions League participation would be very helpful, I believe that Werner is still in good hands with us.

‘If Timo does not strive for the highest possible salary, then it would be a good investment in his sporting future.’

Maurizio Sarri has hinted that he is keen on signing a striker after seeing his Chelsea side fail to score against Southampton on Wednesday.

Chelsea had the opportunity to cement their top four place with a home fixture against Southampton, and many expected the Blues to come out convincing winners.

But Sarri saw his side fail to find the back of the net, despite having some of the most creative players in the Premier League trying to open up the Saints defence.

That has led to speculation that Sarri is keen on deals for Genoa ace Krzysztof Piatek and Bournemouth hitman Callum Wilson who have all score more goals than both Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud this season.

And now he has suggested that a new striker could be arriving this month, telling the Sky Sports website: “The club knows very well my opinion. I think we need something different for characteristics.

“I’m not in charge of the market. I have to try to improve my players, my team, my offensive phase, or better my offensive phase in the last 20 metres. The club knows my position, my opinion. It’s up to the board.

“At the moment we’re in trouble with the offensive players.”

Real Madrid boss Santiago Solari expects Chelsea target Isco to remain at the club amid rumours the attacking midfielder could leave.

Isco has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons this season, with speculation on his future dominating most papers after it was revealed that he was unhappy with the lack of game time he has been receiving.

That has led to speculation that we could be tempted to make a move, as Maurizio Sarri is a big fan and is still looking to add some creativity to his impressive midfield.

But Solari has claimed he expects Isco to stay at the club and rediscover his form, telling the Sky Sports website: “Every player here has to be committed, dedicated and keep working with hope and excitement; they are all fundamental to us.

“Isco has given us a lot of joy and he has to keep doing that. He’s a magnificent footballer and, now that we have lost Marcos Llorente, Javi Sanchez and Mariano, we’re going to need everyone.”
