Reports have claimed Real Madrid are willing to let Chelsea transfer target Luka Modric leave next summer.
The little Croatian was integral in helping Madrid regain another Champions League title last season and was also instrumental in helping Croatia reach the World Cup finals.
He was heavily linked with a move away after the World Cup finished with us and Inter Milan supposedly keen on a deal, but having already lost Cristiano Ronaldo, Real refused to sanction his departure.
However, Mundo Deportivo say that stance has softened, as Madrid are now looking to revamp their aging squad, leaving the door open for Maurizio Sarri to try and secure a possible deal.
Sarri already has a world class midfield and doesn’t need to do much tinkering, but with reports Mateo Kovacic will not get a permanent deal, Willian tipped to leave for Barcelona and Cesc Fabregas linked with a move to AC Milan, there could be a need for Sarri to land a world class replacement.
Would we welcome the aligning of Modric?
Despite his age and the fact he is coming to the bank end of his playing career, Modric is the ideal man to come in and sit alongside N’Golo Kante and Jorginho in the centre of the park to control the pace for Sarri.
He is one of the best in the business and the fact Madrid are willing to let him leave at the end of the season ill be a massive mistake, as there are not that many players in football right now that has half the ability of Modric.
We don’t need another midfielder, but I would love to see this guy arrive at the club.
