Chelsea told hurry up and complete ‘fanastic’ signing
Former Blues defender John Obi-Mikel has opened up and encouraged Chelsea to complete the signing of Ivan Toney, claiming that the big man could be perfect for the club this summer.
Toney has long been linked away from Brentford, with a host of clubs interested in his services. Manchester United (12/1) and Arsenal (12/1) are two clubs have been linked with the striker throughout the summer.
It has been recently claimed that Chelsea have made a late offer to get a deal done for the player as, they seek to add another striker to the side, and Mikel has opened up and told the club to wrap up the signing of the big man.
Speaking on his podcast, Obi Mikel – who won two Premier League titles, four FA Cups and the Champions League during his spell at CHELSEA – said: ‘If we can get him through the door at Chelsea, I’d be very, very happy.
‘He’s a fantastic player. I think on that side of the pitch, we’re very strong. But listen, if we can get a player like Jadon, of course, you’d be happy to have him. If that happens, I’d be very happy.’
