CHELSEA have been encouraged to make a move to try and sign Manchester United linked Bryan Mbeumo, as he looks set to leave Brentford this transfer window.

Bryan Mbeumo enjoyed a superb 2024-25 campaign in west London, scoring 20 goals and providing seven assists in the Premier League alone.

His performances have been so impressive that all the big sides in the top flight have all shown an interest in the player, but Mbeumo has reportedly decided to join United ahead of Arsenal.

However – Leboeuf has questioned why Chelsea did not make a move for a forward on their doorstep.

‘The expectation is going to be big and the pressure will be huge,’ Leboeuf told ESPN when asked about Delap joining Chelsea. ‘Hopefully it’s going to work but we won’t know until he gets there and starts playing games.

‘I was wondering why Bryan Mbeumo doesn’t want to come to Chelsea. Was it a possibility or not?

‘Maybe he knows better but I would have loved to see him at Chelsea and think he would have been very good for the club.’

IcChelseanews Says…

CHELSEA have just signed Liam Delap, they do not need to splash £60 million and add another forward to the attack unless it is for a world class player, Mbeumo is not needed at Stamford Bridge right now.

A move to Man United makes sense for Mbeumo, they are in need of a striker like him and he will be the clubs number one forward, at Chelsea or Arsenal, that might not have happened.

So even though Leboeuf would like to see the Brentford man at Chelsea, that move to Man United is probably the right decision, as we said, they need a striker like him in that attack.
