Lampard ordered to get striker deal done with £98 million forward Martinez linked with Chelsea move
Robbie Savage has urged Frank Lampard to make sure that he signs a top-class number nine for Chelsea, with Lautaro Martinez linked
There has been so much speculation in the media over the past few months about players that we could be bringing in over the summer window, and fans have already started getting frustrated at all the rumours.
However, there is a big feeling around many associated with the club that Lampard needs to spend some serious money and land a striker that will bang in a few goals for next season.
Olivier Giroud is a decent back-up, but fails to find the net on a regular basis, while Michy Batshuayi fails to impress on too many occasions, leaving Lampard with no other options if Abraham needs rest or becomes injured.
Martinez has become one of the most impressive strikers in the Game right now and he has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona or Chelsea over the past few weeks because of his amazing performances.
Former Premier League star Savage has opened up and urged us to make a move and try ti sign a top-lass striker when the transfer window opens up in just a few months time.
He told the Metro: ‘We know Tammy Abraham has done ever so well under Frank Lampard in the Premier League but possibly another centre-forward.
‘I know Giroud is still there but I just think a No.9 [is needed].’
We want to be challenging for that premier League title once again, they want to be playing Champions League football, but they simply cannot do that when only one of their strikers is scoring.
Martinez is a top-class striker and if we could get a transfer deal done then he would add some serious goals to the side.
