Chelsea have made transfer offer for stopper Mendy after coach admits interest in £15 rated million star

Chelsea have made £14.3 million offer for Senegalese goalkeeper Edouard Mendy.

We are on the hunt for a new goalkeeper this summer as Frank Lampard prepares to axe Kepa Arrizabalaga ahead of the new season after the Spaniard failed to impress the club legend with his performances last season.

And according to TELEFOOT, we were seeking to continue their summer of spending by trying to bring Mendy to the club, with reports claiming that we have made a £14.3 million offer for the stopper, which was quickly rejected by his current club.

However, the report says we have been quite active in this summer’s transfer window, so they will be seeking to make another offer to try and get the stopper signed up in the coming weeks.

Goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon has revealed interest in Reims shot-stopper Mendy,

He told Le Parisien: “He has reached maturity, with a fairly unusual path, and it is all the more meritorious.

“Edouard Mendy is today, for me, the best goalkeeper in the Championship of France.

“He is what I call proactive, very influential goalkeeper… Reims really did a great job with him.

“Maybe at [Marseille] they could not detect the talent he had in him, but it was perhaps not the right time too.

“In any case, he’s a great goalkeeper that we follow in the Premier League.”

Mendy is an impressive player, but is he really the man to come in and improve the stopper area? We do not think he is, right now!
