It has been claimed that Chelsea will allow Romelu Lukaku to leave the club for £63 million in the summer window

Chelsea have been in the headlines for many reasons over the past few months as the takeover of the club has not affected the impressive performances on the pitch from Thomas Tuchels men

However, there are a few players that have not impressed at the club this season, have not pulled their weight, have not been doing the job that they have been paid for, players like Lukaku

Lukaku established himself as one of the best strikers in world football during his time at Inter Milan, and his goal-scoring record led to the board paying £98 million, offering him £325,000-a-week and bringing him back to the club

But the powerhouse looks sluggish, looks awful at times and it is believed that we will allow him to leave the club at the end of the season should the right offer arrive, but that would mean that another striker will need to be signed

Now, it has been claimed on the Sky Sports website that Chelsea have made the decision to let Lukaku leave for £63 million in the summer

And the striker has been linked with a move to Barcelona despite his struggles at Stamford Bridge this season, as the report outlines that the Belgium international has surfaced as Xavi’s “Plan C”

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand appeared to criticise Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel for his handling of record signing Lukaku, Ferdinand said in his Vibe by Five podcast: “Romelu Lukaku would shout the loudest and say ‘I’m Romelu Lukaku’ and this isn’t part of the script. This isn’t how I should be rolling.

“I feel for him really because I don’t think they have played to his strengths as much as they could have.

“Yes, he’s had opportunities that have come and he hasn’t put chances that you would expect to put away but there is no doubt that Romelu Lukaku for me, I think he is a world-class striker as his goal record tells you just that.

“You buy him to score goals, so keep him in your team and you will score goals.

“This season is not part of what Romelu Lukaku would have drawn up as a script for himself, so I think he would shout out that he has underachieved more than anybody in the league”
