Marcotti hands transfer ban boost after Chelsea make move to sign £62 million winger
Chelsea have made a £62million offer for Valencia star Goncalo Guedes, as a possible replacement for the departed Eden Hazard.
Hazard FINALLY got his dream move to Real Madrid last week after months of transfer talk, speculation and frustration for the fans who became sick of reading about the Belgian leaving on a daily basis.
But his departure has opened up speculation on whom could come in and replace the Belgian, with Plaza Deportiva claiming we are desperate to sign Guedes this summer and have made a £62 million offer to acquire his services.
[the_ad id=”164″]The 22-year-old impressed this season for Valencia, netting eight goals and providing four assists in all competitions.
And ESPN expert Gabriele Marcotti has recently offered us hope in their chase to sign a number of players this summer, as they look to overturn their transfer ban.
“It will be easier to do so once you have clarity on the transfer ban.
“But don’t forget, this is a team that has a whole bunch of guys out on loan who can probably come back and help if worse comes to worse, if there is a transfer ban from [Fikayo] Tomori to [Tiemoue] Bakayoko.
“You knew Hazard was going to go and you’re not going to replace Eden Hazard but you look to people who you think can make similar contributions.
“Unless they were asleep under a rock, they would have known that Eden Hazard was going to go. We all knew this, this is not a surprise
“We all knew that Willian and Pedro’s contracts were expiring and they likely aren’t going to be extended, they might extend one of them if they get the transfer ban.
“But this is the reality, you move on with different players. This is what happens, players get old and they get replaced.
“What I’m telling you is even if there is a transfer ban, they’ll be competitive to finish top four next season if they get the right manager.
“And if there is no transfer ban, then they’ll be looking to strengthen and maybe make a run to bring them closer to the top two.”
Hazard going is a big time loss for the club, that is not a surprise. But to buy a player that only has fours assists in La Liga, which is a inferior League to the premier League, is not the way to go.
If the talent is not given a chance at the club then signing the likes of Kylian Mbappe or Antoine Griezmann would be the ideal replacements for the Belgian, as he is one of the best players in the game right now.
