Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer speculation from icchelseanews featuring the likes of Aaron Anselmino, Fikayo Tomori and Liam Delap…

Aaron Anselmino has been tipped to become a ‘great footballer’ and star for Argentina by Boca Juniors president Juan Roman Riquelme, as he heads to CHELSEA this week.

The teenage defender has been gaining first team experience at Boca, making 11 appearances in the Argentine top flight this season and Riquelme has seen enough to be convinced he is going to the top.

Anselmino was being touted as a potential superstar after his maiden season as a senior professional at Boca Juniors. His performance in the 2023-24 campaign grabbed the attention of Chelsea recruiters, who wasted no time in sealing a transfer for the young defender for just £17 million ($22m) in the summer.

The player, who has committed to move to Stamford Bridge on a seven-year deal, immediately returned to the Argentine club on loan at least until January 2025, and has continued to impress over in his homeland, but id heading back to the club this week.

Now the former Boca, Barcelona and Villarreal star, who is now president at La Bombonera has claimed that Anselmino has the potential to become a great player, he told ESPN: ‘He has developed a lot.

‘With the growth, the head that he has and the desire to learn that he shows, he is on his way to being a great footballer.

‘He is going to be a player for the national team. He is going to compete with the centre-backs.’

TOMORI DECISION MADE

CHELSEA will only consider re-signing Fikayo Tomori from AC Milan this month, if any current defenders leave Stamford Bridge over the next few weeks.

Tomori enjoyed a very good start to life at the Italian side and quickly become a player that they could really rely on, and developed into a top defender over the past few seasons.

However, recent developments at AC Milan suggest a potential return to Stamford Bridge might be on the cards, according to journalist Sacha Tavolieri in his column for Sky Sport CH.

Tomori’s dissatisfaction at AC Milan stems from a lack of regular game time. In the last ten Serie A matches, the centre-back has managed only 13 minutes on the field. This reduced role has left him questioning his future at the club.

Moreover, the uncertainty surrounding Milan’s squad intensified after the sacking of former manager Paulo Fonseca. New head coach Sergio Conceição’s arrival has left multiple players, including Tomori, uncertain about their place in the team and these circumstances have prompted the English defender to consider a move back to the Premier League.

That led to many reports in the media which have claimed that Tomori has been offered back to the club this month, but we will only make a move for the 27-year-old if any current defenders leave Stamford Bridge, with France international Axel Disasi being linked with a move away from west London.

Tomori is a solid defender and i was one of those people that believed he should have been given more of a chance to develop here at the Bridge. I would love to see him make that return

DELAP SPEAKS ON RUMOURS

Ipswich Town star Liam Delap has been sparkling in the Premier League but insists he is only focussed on the Tractor Boys and not the many reports in the media which have claimed that CHELSEA are ready to make a move for the striker.

Delap is having a fine season in the Premier League for Ipswich this season and has been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks, and although his seven goals are not that impressive, his performances have been quality.

However, he says he is not interested in such talk and is just thinking about picking up more good results after beating Chelsea 2-0 on Monday night: ‘I don’t really look at things like that. So, yes, I’m just focused on Ipswich,’ Delap told Suffolk News.

‘We are lucky to be playing in the Premier League. I think we’ve got a great opportunity here at Ipswich and we’re just trying to show our ability week in, week out, that’s a big plus for me.’

Delap is only 21-years of age, he is playing in the Premier League and getting the game time that he needs to develop, he does not need to move at this stage of his career..

He has the potential to become a top striker in the game if he manages to keep his head down, and we are sure that big move will come in the next few seasons, but he is not ready to lead out attack here at the Bridge
