Agent opens up and announces Chelsea contact for Jamaican Bailey
The agent of Leon Bailey has claimed Chelsea have been in contact about a possible transfer move.
The 21-year-old is one of the most promising young forwards in Europe and was wanted by several top clubs in the summer after having another impressive campaign for the Germans.
[the_ad id=”164″]We know that star man Eden Hazard is keen to leave for Real Madrid and are preparing for life after the Belgian, having already sealed a deal to bring Christian Pulisic to the Premier League at the end of the season.
And Craig Butler, Bailey’s agent and stepfather, has claimed we have asked about the player’s situation at Leverkusen.
‘I am very happy that this change has come about. Leon did not develop under Heiko Herrlich,’ he told SportBild.
‘For Leon it is very important that he enjoys football, he lives alone in Germany, the family is in Jamaica, and if Leon does not have fun, it kills him.
‘Top clubs have come forward, Real and Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Roma, and in recent months they have been surprised that Leon plays so seldom, wondering why a top league player like him is suddenly sitting on the bench.’
Would Bailey be a good buy for the club?
Bailey is only 21-years of age and already one of the most creative players in the Bundesliga, and with Pulisic operating on the opposite wing, the pace and skill of Bailey would help ease the void which will be left by the club.
So if we were to sign the highly-rated winger, then it would be a fantastic buy for the club for now, and in the long-term, as the Jamaican will eventually develop into a world class player.
