Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer speculation from icchelseanews featuring the likes of Kobbie Mainoo, Kieran Drewsbury-Hall and Christopher Nkunku…

CHELSEA have reportedly told Bayern Munich they want around £65million for Christopher Nkunku this January window amidst constant reports that the club are ready to let the French star leave.

Enzo Maresca loves to employ Jackson as his main man in the Premier League, meaning that Nkunku has only been able to get much of his minutes in the conference League and cup competitions, which is not what the attacker wants.

That has led to reports that Nkunku could leave Chelsea this month and the Blues are interested in a move for 19-year-old Bayern forward Mathys Tel to replace him if he departs.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Tel has spoken with boss Vincent Kompany and hopes for a successful future in Bavaria, but we are hovering, and The report states that the club asked to be informed on Tel’s current availability and initial talks were held over a possible swap deal.

Bayern are keen on a move for Nkunku, who is facing an uncertain future after being left with a diminishing role at Stamford Bridge under Enzo Maresca, but the Sun have claimed that the German giants have been told that a fee of £65 million will get a transfer deal done.

The reports come after pundit Chris Sutton tipped the club to offload Nkunku during the January window.

‘I can see Christopher Nkunku leaving,’ Sutton told NewBettingSites. ‘Enzo Maresca seems reluctant to use his bench and Nkunku hasn’t had enough regular game-time.

‘The fact he’s down the pecking order and not getting regular game time, it certainly tells you that Maresca thinks he’s OK, but you need more than OK if you want to push for the Premier League title.

‘He had that horrific injury but unless you get regular game-time, it’s really difficult to find that rhythm.

‘He is a talented player but it looks like another one where it’s just not going to happen for him at CHELSEA.’

DREWSBURY-HALL TOLD TO LEAVE

CHELSEA midfielder Dewsbury-Hall made more than 100 appearances for boyhood club Leicester City, helping the Foxes secure their return to the Premier League last season as Championship winners.

He was named in the EFL Championship Team of the Year and PFA Team of the Season, and when Enzo Maresca made the decision to move to Chelsea in the summer, Drewsbury-Hall was one of the first signings for the Italian boss.

However – Dewsbury-Hall is yet to start a Premier League game for the club since his £30m move from Leicester City last summer and that has led to alot of speculation in the media that he is one player that the club will let leave this transfer window.

Now, amid all the speculation and rumours, ex-winger Pat Nevin insists he should be looking for a new club as he is being wasted at the Blues: ‘It’s a real shame to see what has happened to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and it’s quite strange,’ Nevin told Grosvenor Sport. ‘He is a quality player and hasn’t been able to show that.

‘The problem is that he cannot leave it too long sitting out of first-team football because it’s only a short career and it’s being wasted. I’d love to see him playing more often but who could be dropped at CHELSEA?

‘Dewsbury-Hall needs to be playing football, full-stop. If I was him I’d push to go out on loan, whether that be West Ham or somewhere else.’

Leaving The club needs to happen this transfer window or his career will be on hold for another season, there are clubs interested so he needs to make sure he gets that transfer and does not stay for those big wages.

MAINOO WOULD BE GOOD SIGNING

CHELSEA would be getting a player that could become a cornerstone of the side if they were able to secure a transfer deal for Manchester United star Kobbie Mainoo, according to reporter Iomie Stanley.

Man United are still working on trying to get the young man signed up to a new contract, but amid all the rumours that they are struggling to secure his immediate future, reporter Stanley has claimed that Mainoo is a player capable of becoming a cornerstone of the clubs team.

He told icfootballnews: ‘Mainoo is widely regarded as one of Manchester United’s brightest prospects. Having made his senior debut under Erik ten Hag in the 2022/23 season, Mainoo has demonstrated remarkable composure, technical ability, and tactical intelligence for his age.

‘United fans and coaches have high hopes for Mainoo, viewing him as a natural heir to the club’s storied tradition of producing top-class midfielders. However, his demands after becoming a regular in the side have changed and he could really leave the club.

‘Chelsea’s interest in Mainoo aligns with their ongoing strategy of acquiring young, high-potential players. Under their ownership, the Blues have shown a clear intent to build a squad for the future, signing talents like Enzo Fernández, Moisés Caicedo, and Romeo Lavia. Adding Mainoo to their ranks would not only strengthen their midfield depth but also signal a long-term investment in a player capable of becoming a cornerstone of their team.

‘Chelsea’s current midfield setup is undergoing a transformation, and Mainoo could play a pivotal role in this evolution. His ball-winning abilities, tactical versatility, and vision would complement Chelsea’s high-energy style of play.

‘Moreover, his youthful dynamism could offer a refreshing balance alongside established names. If Man United cannot agree to the terms that Mainoo wants, then CHELSEA are really willing to give a big contract.’
