Chelsea make £50M transfer decision – Boss delighted with Chelsea deal – Blues on £43M talks
Here is a roundup of the top news and gossip that we think you guys may have missed from icchelseanews…
CHELSEA have stepped up their interest in Rayan Cherki and have been in direct contact with the Frenchman’s representatives.
Cherki is a man that is now on the agenda of the board – as he fits the criteria of being one of the most exciting young players in the game that has the ability to develop into one of the best stars in the game.
It has been claimed that Lyon do not want to sell – but that has not stopped the reports in the media that the club have made contact over a possible deal for the talented star.
WHAT IS THE LATEST –
The Football.london understands the French club have not said he is not for sale, but with their widely reported financial problems at the moment, they will try to get every penny possible out of the club should they make a bid.
An offer is under consideration, with the club and Cherki’s representatives speaking in recent days to try and come to an agreement on personal terms.
French football expert Jonathan Johnson has recently suggested that they may be forced into selling some of their best talents this summer.
WHAT HAS HE SAID –
“Rayan Cherki could be one to watch. There have been reports linking him with CHELSEA . He made his breakthrough a bit further in the past than Barcola, and he’s another promising young player who’s been catching the eye for a while now. He’s somebody firmly on the radar of top European clubs, as we saw when PSG tried for him last year.
‘I do think Cherki is someone worth watching as I wouldn’t be surprised if other big clubs were to come in for him as well.
“Lyon are generally not short of talent that would be of interest across Europe. If I were to pick two players likely to be on the move from Lyon this summer, I would probably put Cherki and Castello Lukeba ahead of Barcola at this moment in time, but it depends on the most attractive offers put in front of Lyon while they have these financial issues hanging over them.
‘Once these issues are resolved I think it’ll be harder to get Lyon to sell, so it’s really about whichever club gets in there first with a proposal that is attractive to Lyon.”
BALOGUN DECISION MADE –
CHELSEA have reportedly made a decision about trying to sign Arsenal star Folarin Balogun for £50 million this summer.
There are literally just a few days left in the transfer window and the club are working hard on bringing in a new striker – with Balogun a man that they are seriously interested in.
The striker impressed over in Ligue 1 last season and netted an impressive 22 goals for Frenche side Reims – and many believed that he would be given a chance by Mikel Arteta.
However – that is not the case as the Spanish boss can not guarantee him the regular game time that he desires – and he is reportedly desperate for a transfer move away from the Emirates, and we have been in talks over a deal.
WHAT IS THE LATEST –
The Gunners want £50m to part ways with Balogun but the board do not think he is worth that much, according to BBC report
After initial talks with the Gunners regarding a fee, the Stamford Bridge club have ended their interest.
Monaco have already had an offer rejected for the 22-year-old, while Inter have been attempting to negotiate a loan package with an option to buy.
IS BALOGUN WORTH £50 MILLION?
The lad is certainly a talent and the type of player that the board have been keen to sign in recent weeks – but he is not yet worth £50 million, and anybody would be mad to pay that.
He done very well last season but we would prefer that the board signed a more established striker.
HOWE DELIGHTED –
Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe has been speaking on the CHELSEA deal for the exciting Lewis Hall.
The club are set to receive £28million and a potential further £7m in performance-related add-ons.
The clubs’ FFP position means they need to keep selling players to fund their lavish spending, and due to Hall being an academy product, this move means the London giants pocket pure profit, as opposed to selling Marc Cucurella and missing out on some cash.
A boyhood Newcastle United fan, 18-year-old Lewis is the fifth arrival at St. James’ Park this summer and will wear shirt number 20.
And after seeing the young man make the move to Newcastle – Howe has opened up and revealed just how excited he is to have the talented Lewis Hall at the club for the next 12 months.
WHAT HAS BEEN SAID –
Eddie Howe, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Lewis to Newcastle United.
“He is a player we have tracked closely, as have a number of clubs, so it’s very pleasing to secure him and to add a player of his quality, versatility and high potential to our squad.
“I’d like to thank everyone involved for their tireless work to bring in the players we have.
“A lot of time, effort and resource goes into a transfer window, but we have a real togetherness at all levels here and I appreciate that teamwork and support.”
