Destination Chelsea? Sarri ready to bring £62 million Fekir to Stamford Bridge
Chelsea are still interested in signing Lyon star and Liverpool target Nabil Fekir, according to fresh reports which have emerged.
Fekir become one of the most talked about midfielders in Europe after a stunning season with Lyon last year in which he netted 21-goals in all competitions, and his performances led to speculation that he would make a move to Real Madrid or Liverpool in a deal worth around £62 million, with some reports even suggesting Jurgen Klopp had him penned in for a medical before pulling out of a deal.
But after another impressive start to the new season, there has been reports on the Daily Star website which have claimed we are ready to battle Real Madrid and Liverpoolfor the signature of Fekir in the coming transfer windows, as a possible replacement for star man and Madrid target Eden Hazard.
It is no secret that the right offer will convince Hazard into leaving Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, with Madrid reportedly ready to hand the Belgian his dream move to the Bernabeu in a deal worth around £200 million, and the little winger ready to jump ship in a bid to win the Champions League and Ballon D’or titles, two things he believes he cannot win by staying at Stamford Bridge.
However, we will have a battle on our hands if we wish to acquire the services of Fekir as Lyon will not want to let their star man leave on the cheap and will do everything they possibly can to keep hold for the biggest fee possible.[the_ad id=”238″]
Is Fekir really needed? Here is what we think
There is no doubt that Fekir is a top-class talent that has an incredible ability to find the net on a regular basis, like Frank Lampard used to do. But he is no Hazard and right now the Little Belgian is one of the hardest player to replace in Europe, as there are not too many players out there that can do what he does.
So if we are to replace Hazard, then someone like Gareth Bale, Kylian Mbappe or even Neymar would be the idea choices, as Fekir likes to play in a different role to the Belgian.
