American phenom! Lalas tells £70 million Pulisic to leave with Sarri keen to seal Chelsea deal
Former United States international Alexi Lalas has told Chelsea target Christian Pulisic it is time to leave Borussia Dortmund.
With the January transfer window now just a few weeks away, there has been some constant speculation in the media that we will delve into our transfer kitty and make a move to try and sign up the brilliantly gifted American Pulisic.
Pulisic is regarded as one of the most exciting, creative and talented wingers in world football right now and has caught the attentions of Maurizio Sarri over the past few weeks as we struggle to convince star man Eden Hazard to sign the £350,000-a-week contract that is currently on the table.
And amid all the transfer talks that Dortmund are ready to sell, we have been given a huge boost after Lalas admitted he believes now is the time to leave the German side and seek a fresh challenge.
“There are teams all over the world that would love to have Christian Pulisic right now,” he was quoted on the Daily Mail.
“I think he’s done a great job in going over to Germany, he’s done a great job at Borussia Dortmund.
“But I think it’s time for a change right now for Christian Pulisic, and a change to an even higher profile team.
“[Pulisic] is one of the phenoms in the world, he just happens to be American. There’s going to be pressure to win, and to deliver. He’s a very young player so he’s still getting better.”[the_ad id=”164″]
Is Pulisic worth the £70 million that is being talked about?
Now it is no secret that we have a big transfer budget to play with and could bring any player to the club if we really wanted too. But right now Pulisic is not ready to come in and make the kind of impact that we need to challenge the bigger players.
The lad is only 20-years of age and is still developing over in the Bundesliga, so he needs to add more to his game to break into this current squad.
