Spaniard Kepa announces he is committed to Chelsea and has Lampard message for fans
Kepa Arrizabalaga has underlined his commitment to Chelsea and insists his relationship with manager Frank Lampard is healthy.
Kepa is the world most expensive stopper after we decided to fork out for his services once Thibaut Courtois finally got his move to Real Madrid just a couple of transfer windows ago.
The Spaniard has not been amazing, but he has been solid between the sticks since his move to the Bridge, and there hasnt been many in the media that have doubted that he could be the clubs number one for many seasons.
However, there has been some reports in the media which have suggested that Frank Lampard has asked the hierarchy to get rid of Kepa during the summer transfer window, as he has not been impressed and wants to bring in a more established stopper for next season.
But Kepa told Marca: “The relationship with Frank is very good. “He has shown me confidence from the first moment. He must make decisions, but I feel I have his confidence, both his and that of the whole club. We all like to play in every game.
“It is true that, in the last 10 years, Chelsea is the English team that has won the most titles, and I think we should have that ambition. In fact, I came here for that and in the first season, we already achieved the Europa League. We have a young team.
“Then came the penalty of not signing players (the transfer ban) but you have to keep fighting for titles. I want to win everything with Chelsea and with the national team.”
Look, it will be interesting to see if Kepa does leave the club at the end of the season and if we bring in a replacement, but for now, we just want the football to come back as we are missing all the action.
