Chelsea shocked as rivals told to make Kante move and Blues fans sent massive Pulisic message
Christian Pulisic has been called the ‘Messi of the United States’ – though the Blues have been warned he will not replace Eden Hazard.
The American is one of the most highly-rated wingers in the game right now, but Borussia Dortmund were willing to sell after the emergence of England International Jadon Sancho.
And German football expert Rafa Honigstein believes former Borussia Dortmund star Pulisic will do a lot for us in terms of American brand recognition, but he still needs guidance on the pitch.[the_ad id=”164″]
Honigstein said on the TalkSport website: “He won’t be able to fill Hazard’s boots just yet but I think there’s a real player there who can develop and who with the right coaching and confidence can go to a really high level.
“Also he will add a lot to Chelsea’s international brand recognition. He is the Messi of the United States, we should not underestimate just how much of an impact and of a following this guy has.
“Immediately Chelsea will become the most-watched team in America simply because he’s there. OK maybe Manchester United and Liverpool with their historic fanbases will disagree but the neutrals will all start watching Chelsea.”
Meanwhile, Tony Cascarino suggests Manchester United should put in a huge bid for N’Golo Kante this summer.
The Frenchman has not looked like the same player over the past 12 month, partly down to the fact he has been playing in a more attacking role, and that has led to speculation in the media that he could depart the club.
And Cascarino has urged United to make a move for Kante this summer, he wrote in his Time Column: “Yes they need to bring in quality but they need to transform the mentality of the club,” he said.
“Too many players — and I think Pogba is one of them — play like they are doing Manchester United a favour. Well they’re not: United need players who are desperate and hungry,” insisting the France midfielder’s sale would help them massively. ”[the_ad id=”164″]
