Chelsea close in on £54 million Jovic deal after striker sends surprise message
Fulham forward Aleksandar Mitrovic says Serbia team-mate and Chelsea transfer target Luka Jovic is in ‘crisis’ at Real Madrid.
After a very impressive season in the Bundesliga last year, Jovic became hot property in the game with some of the biggest clubs in the game all linked with possible moves, but in the end it was Real Madrid who secured a transfer deal for his services.
The Spanish giants paid a massive £54 million for the young hitman as they firmly believed that he could become a superstar in the game, but this season has not been the best in Madrid for Jovic and he has only managed two goals for the Spaniard, leading to rumours he could leave.
But according to recent reports, Jovic is all set to stay at the Bernabeu after the Spaniards reportedly decided that they wanted to keep hold and give him a real shot in the first team, making it harder for the Blues to potentially seal a deal.
But wehave been boosted once again in their chase, as Mitrovic has opened up and claimed that he is in a crisis at Madrid: “He’s in a sort of crisis,” he told Serbian outlet Butasport. “When you are a striker, the most important thing is to be on the pitch. I don’t think he has had many opportunities.
“I was in that situation at Newcastle. You only have five, 10, 15 minutes, and in the time you try and do what you can to prove your worth, especially when you have cost a lot of money. You want to do everything and it burns you out.”
