Jorginho is all set to stay at Chelsea after his agent dismissed speculation linking him with a move to Juventus.
After a stuttering first season under Maurizio Sarri last season, in which the Italian star failed to impress on many of his outings in a Blues shirt, Jorginho has become an integral part of Frank Lampards’ season this year and has seemingly won the Blues fans round with his impressive performances.
However, the Italy international has been heavily linked with a move to Juventus, where he would be reunited with Maurizio Sarri for the third time in his career, as the former boss is keen to be reignited with the man that he had so much success at Napoli with
Reports suggested Juve would offer up Federico Bernardeschi once the window opens up in hopes of agreeing a player exchange deal, and Jorginho was reportedly open to moving to Italy, due to his relationship with Sarri, but his agent Joao Santos has downplayed any talk of a move, insisting the player is happy.
He indicated Jorginho would be willing to extend his current deal and committing his future to the club: “Juventus? I read that, but I never had contact with them,” he told calciomercato.it.
“Neither Sarri nor Fabio Paratici [Juventus CEO] have ever called me for information on Jorginho.
“To date, I know absolutely nothing about this situation
“The lad is very happy in London, where he is showing his worth and where he still has three more years on his contract.
“In fact, in July, there is the possibility of adding a fourth [year] and opening negotiations for a renewal of the contract with Chelsea.
“We don’t know what the marketing strategies of Juventus are, but these are our plans for our future.
“And, I repeat – to date, neither Juventus nor any other team has come forward.”
There is no need to see Jorginho leave the club and the best thing for him to do is stay put.
