Juventus chief Federico Cherubini has reportedly arrived in London as he looks to secure a deal for Chelsea star Jorginho.

Jorginho has enjoyed a superb couple of years for club and country, starring in Chelsea’s Champions League win and Italy’s European Championships triumph in 2021, with his performances earning him a Ballon d’Or nomination.

However, there has been alot of speculation that he could depart the club at the end of the season, and a move back to Italy has been mooted for the midfielder, meaning that Thomas Tuchel would need an immediate replacement.

Italian giants Juventus appear to have won the race to sign Manchester United’s Paul Pogba on a free transfer when the Frenchman’s contract expires next month – and the 29-year-old could be lining-up alongside Jorginho when he returns to Turin next term.

Todd Boehly’s consortium hope to complete their takeover of the club by the end of the month, which will finally allow them to get back in the game transfer wise – but a big-name departure could be the first topic of conversation, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

They state that Juventus have made Italy international midfielder Jorginho, 30, one of their top targets and have now begun their attempt to get him.

And the report goes on to add that the Juve Chief has arrived in the UK to complete a £40 million deal for the Italian midfielder.

There has been so many occasions in the past that Jorginho has shown a desire to leave the club and head back to Italian football – so it is easy to see why now would be the perfect time for him to leave

We may not want him to leave and will do everything they can to make sure that he stays – but at the end of the day – if he wants out – just let him go
