Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has stunningly revealed that he was open to the idea of holding transfer talks with Arsenal.
Despite being a big part of the side last season and the beginning of this year, there was alot of speculation in the transfer window that Frank Lampard was open to the idea of letting Jorginho leave the club if the right amount of money was offered.
That led to reports that he could be heading back to Italian football, but it also led to shock reports in the media that Arsenal were also interested in trying to sign the midfielder before they eventually wrapped up a transfer deal for Thomas Partey
Now the midfielder says he would have been open to moving to the red side of London if the situation arose but, now that it hasn’t, he’s completely focused on shining for Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge
“I believe that every player is open to negotiations,” Jorginho told ESPN Brazil.
“So I believe there was something they talked about. And in the end it was decided that I remain here. Now my head is here and we’re going to do a great job with Chelsea, which I always wanted to do.”
Alot of fans were surprised to see that Jorginho was so heavily linked with a move away from the club over the transfer window, and so many were happy to see that he eventually stayed with the club.
But it is a surprise to see that he was open to the idea of holding talks with Arsenal, as he would have become a very hated man if he made the move across London, but we guess as that never happened, it does not really matter.
