Chelsea in talks to sign striker from French giants!

David Ornstein has dropped another transfer bomb after claiming CHELSEA have held talks with Lille striker Jonathan David over a possible move.

The Canadian forward has emerged as a potential transfer target for the club over the past few months, as the club will be desperate to add a new striker to that attack when the summer transfer window opens up.

Lille recently admitted they are preparing for the 24-year-old to leave, as Club president Olivier Letang has admitted that the striker is free to leave this transfer window, alongside defender Leny Yoro, who is also linked with a move to United.

He said: “Leny Yoro and Jonathan David can leave the club this summer. Both have the ‘exit voucher’ due to their contract situation”

Now Ornsetin has taken to Twitter and claimed that we have held talks with the speedy striker about a move to Stamford Bridge – His contract is up next summer and relations between the clubs are said to be good.

Nothing is close yet though.

David recently provided an update on his future during his latest interview with French media lavoixdunord.

“I have a year left in my contract and frankly, I am not thinking about it. There were rumours in the past, but I will stay at Lille until I sign for another club,” said the Canadian striker.

His contract with Lille runs out in June 2025 but the striker is not aware of negotiations between his agent and the club.

“I don’t know if the club has spoken to my agent,” he said.

“Surely we’ll do it at the end of the season. There are important games remaining, and I want to focus on the pitch.”
