Kurzawa message sent, Chelsea in Dembele talks and Blues make De Jong offer in Chelsea roundup…
Chelsea have held talks with Ousmane Dembele as he looks set to leave Barcelona
Dembele has greatly frustrated since arriving at the Camp Nou. Due to a combination of both poor form and persistent injuries, he has made just 126 appearances for the Spanish giants, scoring 30 goals
However, there has been some shock speculation in the media that we may be open to the idea of bringing him to the Premier League in order to add a bit more of a goal-threat to that Attack.
Dembele enjoyed his best form at Dortmund under current boss Thomas Tuchel, so it would not be a surprise to see the two reunited at Stamford Bridge, especially as Chelsea know they may be able to get the Frenchman for a bargain
Dembele is out of contract at the end of the current campaign and talks between player and club over a Nou Camp extension have recently ground to a halt following the Frenchman’s substantial demands.
The winger is reportedly pushing for an annual salary of £25million and a separate signing bonus of £25m, while his agent is believed to have stipulated a commission of £13m – demands which have been deemed ‘crazy’ by the Barcelona hierarchy, according to reports in Spain.
With a departure now appearing imminent, we have emerged as one of the frontrunners in the race for his signature having held discussions with the player this month, according to SPORT
Look, there is no doubt that Dembele has massive amounts of potential, but the player is just too injury prone. If we just want to add to their squad, then he could be a decent signing.
But he is no longer a regular starter and not any better than what we already have. So if the reports are true and the club are keen on a transfer deal, he would be a signing that will not make much of an impact at the club.
French football expert Jonathan Johnson has claimed that Layvin Kurzawa is not the right fit for Chelsea
Tuchel wants another option at left-back to compete with Marcos Alonso and it looks like Kurzawa is likely to be it, with the Frenchman out of contention at PSG.
The 29-year-old has played 153 games for PSG since joining from Monaco in 2015 but has fallen down the pecking order and has not made a single Ligue 1 appearances this season under Mauricio Pochettino.
Reports on the RMC Sport report that talks have begun over a loan switch, with PSG happy to let him leave and the short-term deal curing a headache for Tuchel at left-back
However, amid all the speculation that a deal is on the cards, Johnson has opened up and sent a clear message to the board about a possible deal for the experienced left-back.[the_ad id=”164″]
He told the on Sky Sports News website: “Kurzawa is someone who will be on the move if an offer is acceptable to PSG and the player. He’s barely featured for PSG this season so a move would definitely be in his interests.
“That said, it would have to be to somewhere which interested him. He doesn’t have the best relationship with Thomas Tuchel from their past, so I’m not sure it would be the most logical fit.
“Chelsea are looking for more depth on the left with Chilwell’s injury, but I’m not sure it’s the best fit.”
Look, we know that the fans always welcome new signings, but guys, do you agree with what Johnson has said?
CHELSEA have reportedly made a bid of £33million for Barcelona flop Frenkie de Jong.
After seeing his side fall further away from winning that Premier League title after they lost 1-0 to Manchester City at the weekend, Tuchel may now push to get some deals done, and the latest name to be linked with a move is De Jong
De Jong has featured in 24 games for Barca this season, but has failed to live up to his much-hyped potential, and According to El Nacional, the club are chasing the Dutchman, and if they up their offer to around £42m that could prove fruitful.
And the reports claims If the former Ajax star was to leave, Barcelona would be able to call on ready-made replacements.
Youth graduates Pedri and Gavi have impressed this season with another youngster, Nico, also rated highly by the club.
We are very shocked to see that we are linked with a midfielder this transfer window, as all of their issues seem to be at the back and up top, in front of goal. De Jong is a very special player that has become a key part of the Barca squad.
Yes he has not impressed like many had hoped for, but at the end of the day, neither has many of those Barcelona players. So if the reports are true and the club have made a bid to sign De Jong, he would be a very good signing
However, fans wont be too disappointed to hear that we do not believe this is a deal that will happen
