Chelsea in Premier League talks to get shock deal for attacker done!
Aston Villa have opened talks with CHELSEA over a deal to sign Raheem Sterling after the winger was told to leave Stamford Bridge when the club made the signing of Pedro Neto.
Sterling took the No17 shirt when he first joined from City in the summer of 2022 for £47.5million and switched to No7 last season, but that shirt has now gone to £54m recruit Pedro Neto, who joined from Wolves.
Sterling has been linked with a whole host of clubs around the world – but it seemed that a move to Saudi Arabia was not going to happen because Sterling was not interested in a move to the middle east.
Juventus are also interested in a move for the winger – but his high asking price and £325k-a-week wages have also been a problem – which has allowed Aston Villa to line-up a shock move for the star.
Villa are reportedly interested in keeping the England international in the Premier League, holding talks with the Blues on Thursday, according to The Times.
Unai Emery’s side are still hoping to bring in another attacking player having missed out on Joao Felix, who joined the club on a permanent deal this week.
Both the club and Sterling are keen on a permanent move over a loan but the situation is complicated by the fact he still has three years left on his contract – which is worth a substantial £325,000-per-week.

Look, if Villa wants to pay the money that Sterling is demanding and are willing to take on a player that has been so inconsistent over the past few seasons – then they can take him.
