Chelsea in advanced talks sign big man – Agent confirms move

Ajax defender Jorrel Hato is reportedly very keen on making a move to CHELSEA this transfer window, as his agent have confirmed the Blues have been in contact over a possible deal for the highly-prized defender.

Enzo Maresca has brought a belief back to the club that has now won two trophies in the last few months, and has also managed to build a squad that is one of the most enjoyable to watch in the English top-flight.

The club have multiple central defensive options already but the report claims that Axel Disasi could leave amid interest from Villarreal. The Blues are hoping to earn around £30m ($40m) if they sell the centre-back, who spent the second half of the 2024-25 season on loan at Aston Villa.

Per talkSPORT recently claimed that we have opened talks over a deal to sign Hato from Ajax as they seek defensive reinforcements this summer.

And  Hato is also understood to be keen on a move to Stamford Bridge and Chelsea are now directly negotiating with Ajax over a possible deal for the 19-year-old.

Speaking to De Telegraaf on Wednesday, Hato’s agent, Humphry Nijman said: ‘Yes, the club has contacted Ajax.

Meanwhile, Romano said on his YouTube channel: ‘Chelsea are working on some targets,’

‘On CHELSEA it is important to mention the centre-back also. Chelsea are pushing on a deal to sign Jorrel Hato from Ajax.

‘Chelsea, in the last 24 hours, have made official club-to-club contact with Ajax, starting the negotiation with Jorrel Hato.

‘Chelsea are pushing, the player is keen on a move, he is ready to agree on personal terms, it’s not going to be an issue on the player’s side.’
