Fresh reports have claimed Chelsea are looking to spend big in the January transfer window and acquire Napoli star Elsaid Hysaj.
Chelsea were in need of adding a brand new defender to the back-line in the summer and were heavily linked with a move for Hysaj well before they managed to secure a deal for Maurizio Sarri, who was let go by the Italians and replaced by Carlo Ancelotti.[the_ad id=”238″]
And amid the threat of a two-year transfer ban for an alleged breach of Financial Fair Play regulations over their transfer dealings of under-age players, the Daily Express have claimed we are now seeking to sign Hysaj in the January window.
Hysaj actually wanted to join Chelsea to link up with his boss too, but Mario Giuffredi explained it was impossible after Napoli agreed to allow Sarri and Jorginho to join Chelsea.
‘Those who criticise him probably never make mistakes, but the rest of us are mere mortals,’ Giuffredi told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.
‘Without that clause he probably would have gone to Chelsea this summer.
‘People forget that he was one of the best two or three full-backs in Europe last season. Then it just takes two or three matches for him to become a donkey.
‘I always say to let everyone talk and then respond on the pitch.’[the_ad id=”238″]
Will Sarri make a move for Hysaj again? Here is what we think
The Italian boss has a style of football that only certain players can adapt too, and Hysaj is the perfect defender to come in and sit alongside David Luiz at the back to get things ticking over for Chelsea.
Sarri will once again try to raid his former club and although Napoli may not like it, Hysaj is interested in a move to the Premier League and may try to be more forceful in getting a deal done in the coming transfer windows.
Sarri will surely make a move as Hysaj is a world class defender.
