£60m valued striker ‘knows Chelsea want him’

Rasmus Hojlund knows CHELSEA are hot on his trail – according to Journalist Simon Jones.

We are once in the headlines simply because they are in need of hiring a new manager after sacking Graham Potter – who lasted just seven months at the Premier League giants.

But that has not stopped all the speculation and the rumours about players that the board are continuring to look at trying to sign – and Hojlund is a man that is on the shopping list of Ted Boehly and his crew.

The club are already signing Red Bull Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku and talks are advancing over a permanent deal for Atletico Madrid’s Joao Felix – but a striker is what the board are keen on and according to Jones – Hojlund knows the club want him.

He told the Daily Mail: ‘He is a self-confessed Manchester United fan but Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund knows Chelsea are hot on his trail.

‘Word has it that CHELSEA invited Atalanta chairman Antonio Percassi to their recent Champions League tie with Borussia Dortmund at Stamford Bridge and Hojlund’s availability was among the topics of conversation.

‘Atalanta want £60m for the 20-year-old, who has scored five goals in his two starts for Denmark and is shaping to be a huge star. United are well aware of him, as are title-chasing Arsenal.’

It is strange to see that CHELSEA are still eyeing up possible signings when they do not even have a new manager – which suggests that the new boss will not have a say on the players the club buys.

Hojlund is a very talented lad – but to splash £60 million on a player that has only been around for a few seasons and is not ready for the Premier League is crazy – the club need to sign a proven top-level forward that has scored goals on a regular basis.
