Theo Hernandez is in advanced talks to sign a new contract with AC Milan despite interest from Chelsea.
The start of the New Year in football signifies the opening of the transfer window and after the past month of struggle for the club, it might be a bit busier than anticipated for Tuchel
There has been a number of players linked with a transfer move to the Bridge, and the latest name to to linked is that of Hernandez
Recent reports from Tuttosport have claimed we have explored a deal to bring him to Stamford Bridge and were told by Milan an offer of €60m could tempt them into doing business.
He is now regarded as one of the finest defenders in the Italian League after making a real name for himself, but the club were reportedly not willing to pay £60 million to try and get a transfer deal done.
Now amid the speculation that we were preparing that move, the 24-year-old insists he is ready to commit his future to the Rossoneri, with Milan legend and director Paolo Maldini playing a key role in that decision.
‘We are at an advanced stage,’ Hernandez told Sky Italia when discussing a new deal.
‘I’ve been very happy here since the first day and we are in talks.
‘I work every day to become the best. Paolo Maldini often helps with advice too.’
Look, the Winter transfer window is not the best time to get transfer deals done, especially for the best players. So it is not a shock to see that Hernandez wants to stay at Milan
He is playing well and he probably knows that when Ben Chilwell comes back, he will not longer be the number one at the Bridge and doesnt want to sit on the bench on a weekly basis
