Why you worrying Chelsea? Hazard has message for ‘clever’ team-mate Kante

Chelsea ace Eden Hazard is backing N’Golo Kante to adapt to the new position which Maurizio Sarri has given him at Stamford Bridge this season.

Kante has emerged as the best holding midfielder in world football and has made a very good living at protecting the back-line, breaking up play and being the 12th man on the pitch.

But Sarri brought in Jorginho during the summer transfer window and decided that the Italian was a better fit to play that deeper, holding role that Kante has been occupying for a few years now, and his ecision to play Jorginho there and Kante in a wider role has seen the Frenchman put in some very average performances.

But Hazard believes Kante is a ‘clever’ player and believes the 27-year-old will adjust under Sarri.

‘He’s very important, believe me,’ Hazard told Chelsea’s official website.

‘The way the manager wants him to play is a bit different to last year and two years ago, but I think he can adapt.

‘He’s clever on the pitch and in midfield he’s one of the best in the world, we all know that. ‘He’s won almost everything so we need him and he will show the best of N’Golo soon.

Why doesn’t Sarri put Kante back in the middle?

Jorginho is a top-class playmaker that needs to play a little further up so he can create and do damage in the final third of the game, and then let Kante do what he is best at, as the Frenchman is being wasted in a more attacking role.

And if Sarri is not careful, the Frenchman may decide a move away may give him the opportunity to play in his favoured role.
