Defour opens up and announces Chelsea star Hazard’s big Real Madrid dream

Burnley defender Steven Defour has claimed Chelsea star Eden Hazard has always dreamt of a move to Real Madrid.

Hazard is now considered one of the best players in world football after developing into a superstar here at Stamford Bridge, and reports in the media suggest Madrid see him as the idea replacement for Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo, who left for £100 million during the summer transfer window.

But despite all the speculation and rumours linking Hazard with a move away from the club, Maurizio Sarri convinced Hazard to stay at Chelsea for one more season, and try to help us get back into the top four, playing Champions League football and challenging Manchester City for the premier League title.

Now, amid all the transfer speculation surrounding the future of Hazard, Defour has claimed that a concrete offer from Madrid in next summers transfer window will see the Belgian finally leave the club.

He was quoted: “Eden’s the best player in the Premier League – he’s just behind Messi and Ronaldo. You can’t compare others to them. In a normal season they score 30-40 goals. It was a very good season for Mo Salah at Liverpool last year.

“Messi and Ronaldo have done it for the past 10. Since Eden was a little boy he has dreamed of playing for Real Madrid. And at some point, if you get that opportunity, you might take it.”

Is this Hazard’s last season at Stamford Bridge?

Hazard has transformed into a real superstar over the last few months and his performances under the guidance of Sarri have stepped up a level, as the Italian plays the kind of football that the Belgian enjoys.

But if Defour is right and Hazard has always dreamt of playing for Madrid, then it could be the same case Ronaldo had when he left United after years of transfer speculation as the Portuguese superstars finally got his wish to make the mega money move to La Liga after being convinced to stay for one more season at Old Trafford.

We would love to see Hazard stay put, but the likely-hood of that happening is very high as the little magician has already indicated he is thinking about a switch next summer.
