Chelsea news: Hazard has made up his mind to leave Stamford Bridge?

Eden Hazard is set to run down his contract in a bid to force through a move to Real Madrid.

Hazard has started the new season in tremendous form for Chelsea and is showing the kind of goal-scoring ability which elevates him to that next level, as he already has eight goals to his name in all competitions.

But he has admitted in recent days that he is torn over whether to sign a new contract or leave for the dizzy heights of La Liga, in a bid to win the Champions League and Ballon D’or.

“I don’t want that,” Hazard said.

“I want what’s good for me, but I want what’s good for the club because the club has given me everything.

“I don’t want to say: ‘Yes, I am signing a new contract’ and then in the end I don’t end up signing. So I will see. Sometimes in my head, I wake up in the morning and think I want to go. Sometimes I think I want to stay. It is a hard decision. It is my future. I am 27 and I will turn 28 in January.”

“That’s why I spoke after the World Cup and I said that I think it is time to change because I played a great World Cup,” he added.

“I am really in the game, I am playing good football at the moment. Real Madrid is the best club in the world. I don’t want to lie today. It is my dream since I was a kid. I was dreaming about this club. We will see. I don’t want to talk about this every day. I don’t have time but we will talk about my future soon. I think so.”

But now Spanish website Marca have claimed Hazard has made up his mind and does not intend to force Chelsea into a corner in the same way Thibaut Courtois did, but is confident he can manufacture the move by declining any contract extensions.

Here is what we think on Hazard.

The guy is world class and there is nobody out there that can do what he does, so it will be a shame to see him depart the club should he pack his bags for Madrid at the end of the season.

But even though I do not want to see him leave, we definitely need to think about possible replacements that can come in and produce the goods that Hazard has over the seasons, but who is there?
