Frank Lampard is still pleased as punch to have Kai Havertz on board after he secure a deal for the German

Frank Lampard knows that he needed to add a goal-scoring midfielder, like himself, to the side this summer to help take the club forward while also adding goals to the attack.

And after seeing Havertz net an impressive 18-goals last season, the legend decided that Havertz was the player that he wanted the most this summer, and after a few months of talks, the Blues finally got their man.

He arrives at the club on a deal that is worth £71 million, while his wage packet at the club will make him one of the highest earners in the Premier League, not just at Stamford Bridge.

And Lampard has now opened up and announced his excitement at having the German at the club, the Blues boss was quoted on TalkSport: “He is a player I have been aware of for a long time and as a fellow attacking midfield player, I have paid particular attention to those type of players for some time.

“I was aware of his talent and in conjunction with the club.

“We know how we want to go forward and look to improve in the right areas, and for players who are going to be here hopefully to improve and mature, but are already at a very high level.

“He absolutely fitted the bill for us, so I am delighted to have him.”

We are massive fans of Havertz and cannot wait to see him step onto that pitch.
