German star told ‘to baulk up’ ahead of possible £87 million Chelsea transfer move

Dimitar Berbatov has urged Chelsea transfer target Kai Havertz to snub the Premier League for now — and bulk up.

Havertz has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League over the past few months with reports the Bayer Leverkusen midfielder is wanted by all the top Premier Legaue sides.

It is believed that we want the lad as they seek a long-term replacement for Eden Hazard, as we have so far failed to find the right type of player that has filled the goals and assists that the Belgian brought to the side.

But ex-United striker Berbatov, who left Leverkusen to join Spurs in 2006, believes Havertz is not yet tough enough to leave his native Germany, and needs to baulk up before he makes the move to the Premier Legaue.

Berbatov, 39, said on the SUN website: “I’d like to see Havertz in the Premier League but it is a bit too early for him.

“He will need a bit more muscle. We all know how defenders can squash you and smash you into pieces.

“He should stay at Leverkusen and develop even more, get that experience which will help him for when the time comes to go somewhere else.”

Will Havertz come to the Premier League in the summer? WIll he sign for us? is he worth the money?

Look, there is alot of transfer talk about the young man, but one thing for certain, we would be massive fools not to make a move in the summer if he does come onto the market.

Brilliant talent, great future and a future superstar of football, we would be very lucky to secure a transfer deal for this brilliant young man. So lets see what happens, and lets see if he actually listens to Berba and baulks up before making a move.
