Leverkusen ready for battle as Bosz admits deal for Chelsea target Havertz could be done in August
Bayer Leverkusen hope to fend off interest in Chelsea target Kai Havertz but coach Peter Bosz has acknowledged that a deal could be completed by August.
Frank Lampard may have one of the most exciting and creative sides in the Premier League right now, but he will need to spend some money in the next couple of windows to improve the side in certain areas, especially with the likes of Willian and Pedro seemingly on their way out of the club.
That has led to the speculation in the media that Havertz, who is valued at around the £89 million mark, is now top of the shopping list of Lampard, who is reportedly a huge fan of the midfielder.
Real Madrid and Manchester United are also battling us for the signature of the highly-rated German, and boss Peter Bosz has acknowledged that a deal could be completed by August.
Bosz told BILD: “I don’t feel that he is thinking too much about transferring. Neither are we.
“I certainly don’t have the impression that this will be his last game for the club.
“He is still under contract with us and I have to assume that he will be with us next season too.
“That will include the German Cup final next month and the next Europa League game against Rangers in August.
“Of course, that’s all dependent on nothing happening before then.”
Havertz is a brilliant player that has great potential, but again, do we really need the man here at the Bridge?
