Forget Coutinho as Chelsea ordered to make move and sign brilliant £89 million German
Frank Leboeuf believes Chelsea should target Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Kai Havertz instead of Barcelona’s Philippe Coutinho in the next transfer window.
Coutinho has been in the Headlines alot over the past few weeks, as indications suggest that Barcelona are keen to offload the Brazilian when the transfer window officially opens in a few weeks time.
There have been reports in the media that we have opened talks with the players agent about a possible dealm but another player that has been linked with a move to us over the past few months is that of Havertz.
And Leboeuf has urged the club to make a move for Havertz in the summer rather than a move for the more experienced Coutinho, who could cost over £100 million to acquire in the summer window.
He was asked about Havertz, and he TOLD ESPN: ‘Yes. I like his maturity on the field, he looks like someone who is 30 and knows exactly what he has to do and when he has to do it.
‘The goal he scored was very clever, between the goalkeeper’s legs.
‘He’s the master orchestrator of that team and I talked about him last week and I said that’s a player that I would hire for sure.
‘When we were talking Chelsea about Coutinho, when you see that player [Havertz], he should be in the Premier League very soon.
‘He should be because he’s a very, very talented player.’
Both top-class players that would improve our squad for next season, and two players that we would love to see arrive, but if fans had the choice, who would they want to see signed up?
