Chelsea have been told that £18 million will get exciting defender all signed up
Chelsea have reportedly been informed how much it will cost to secure a deal for Strasbourg youngster Mohamed Simakan.
Frank Lampard made the decision over the summer to bring Thiago Silva to the club after hearing that he would become a free agent after deciding that now was the best time to leave PSG.
However, he will not be at the club forever, meaning that Lampard will need to delve into that transfer kitty and try to sign a long-term replacement for the defender, with Simakan a man that has arrived on the shopping list.
According to the latest reports Le 10 Sport, we have ‘positioned themselves’ to sign Strasbourg’s Simakan, 20, who has established himself as one of the finest young centre-backs in Ligue 1 over the last two seasons, and are in deep talks to get a transfer deal done
And according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Strasbourg have told the Premier League giants that they want £18m if they are to agree to selling Simakan.
Look, £18 million is not alot of money for a lad that is rated very highly and young enough to come in and learn from Silva before he departs the club in the coming seasons. So at the end of the day, they should pay that money, he could be worth it.
So if the reports are true and we are looking to wrap up a transfer deal done, the money should be paid sooner rather than later as there is a growing interest in the lad and there is a chance that we could miss out on a possible transfer deal
