Chelsea have announced two midfield deals have been officially wrapped up
Chelsea youngster Ike Ugbo has signed a new contract with the Blues and agreed to join Belgian outfit Cercle Brugge on loan for 2020-21.
The 21-year-old striker spent last season on loan in the Dutch second division, where He bagged 13 goals in 28 games for Roda JC and his performances meant that we decided to hand him a new contract.
Ugbo’s deal now runs until 2022 at Stamford Bridge and he has been at the club since he was nine, but after signing that contract, he will join the Belgian team that is managed by former Blues coach Paul Clement.
“With the arrival of Ike Ugbo we are strengthening our line of attack in a targeted manner,” said Cercle Brugge chairman Vincent Goemaere.
“Ugbo is a sturdy, strong striker who easily found his way to goal last season when he was loaned out to Roda JC.
“Hopefully, he will show that same instinct at Cercle this season. Welcome Ike! ”
Meanwhile, prospect Trevoh Chalobah has signed a new deal at Stamford Bridge.
The defender-cum-midfielder will spend 2020-21 in Ligue 1 after playing at Huddersfield last year and there is big hope that he can use the game time in order to help develop his career, with the Chelsea coaching staff having big hopes for the lad.
He announced after arriving at FC Lorient: “The prospect of evolving at the highest level in France and discovering a new culture convinced me,”
These two lads are very exciting so hopefully the loan deals will give them a chance to some back better players.
