Chelsea get massive £100M transfer boost in bid to sign striker

CHELSEA are set for talks with Atletico Madrid after deciding they want to make Joao Felix’s loan deal permanent
Felix failed to make the grade over at Atletico Madrid and pretty much forced a move away from the club during the January transfer window – as he needed a fresh challenge in the game.
That allowed us to swoop in and bring him to the Premier League on loan until the end of the current season – and there have been calls for the club to make his switch to Stamford Bridge a permanent one.
Now – the club are keen to keep hold of the Portugal international and see him as part of a “long-term project” at the club, according to Fabrizio Romano.
He claims Felix is also hoping to stay in west London but any deal will depend on the price that Atletico demand for the forward, with the Madrid club hoping for around €100m (£87.5m/$108.5m).
According to Portuguese journalist Pedro Almeida – the Portuguese star has told Madrid that he has no intention of making a move back at the end of the season.
He has recently claimed that he could be open to staying at Stamford Brdge for the long-term – he recently told ESPN: ‘In terms of if I want to stay or not, I think the future, no-one knows.

‘Now I am just focused on tomorrow’s game. After that, we don’t know what will happen.
‘But I am happy here. The club is so big, is amazing, everyone behind the club is so good, so yes I am happy to be here.’
But the Portuguese International has also admitted that he has a desire to play Champions League football. But following their win over Leeds last Saturday, Chelsea are now 10th in the table, 11 points off the top four, but with a game in hand over fourth-placed Tottenham.
‘But now I am focused on this Champions League, tomorrow’s game. We have a lot of games yet to try to reach the Champions League in the league. It is not over.
Playing Champions League, it is [an] important decision. But the future, no one knows so let’s see what happens.’
