AC Milan are reportedly struggling to make progress on Gianluigi Donnarumma’s contract situation – opening the door for Chelsea to swoop in and try to get a transfer deal done in the summer.
Regarded as one of the finest young stoppers in the game right now, and the man to be the next Gianluigi Buffon, Donnarumma is making a real name for himself in the game and has been in the headlines alot over his future, as he simply could not agree a new contract.
The 22-year-old goalkeeper’s deal expires in the summer and negotiations are said to be moving slowly, and although Thomas Tuchel has not made signing a new stopper his main priority, the chance to sign the Italian on a free contract has been talked about alot over the past few months
And while Milan have spoken calmly about the situation in previous months, technical director Paolo Maldini was described as frustrated when referring to the situation in the week.
He said: “These are choices everyone has to make.
“I am not here to judge, I am here to do what is best for the club. I also know that you need two parties to be happy in order to strike a deal.”
A pay increase from his net salary of £100,000-a-week to a £133,000-a-week wage is on the table but no deal has been signed.
There has been alot said about the young man and his future, but at the end of the day, if we keep a close eye on his situation and are prepared to give him a bigger contract than the Italians, they could very well get a transfer deal done.
He will be an all-time great and we would love to see him in that famous shirt on a weekly basis.
