Borussia Dortmund are confident they will keep Chelsea target Erling Haaland despite his cut-price £64million release clause, reports suggest.
Haaland is already one of the most talked about and sought after players in world football after developing into one of the most deadly strikers in the game ever since his move to Dortmund
Haaland, 21, was targeted by the Blues in the last summer transfer window but Dortmund’s reluctance to let the Norwegian go in the same summer as Jadon Sancho thwarted any deal from coming to fruition.
That meant that we opted to make a move for Romelu Lukaku, who has had a brilliant start to list back at the club, despite that serious injury that he has picked up recently
However, it is no secret that the board would still like to acquire the services of the hot-shot striker and are reportedly all set to make a massive offer in the summer transfer window.
According to Manchester Evening News, however, the Premier League giants has cause for worry as Dortmund’s head of first-team football Sebastian Kehl is positive the star striker is staying put.
Kehl said: “Of course, we are trying to give him the feeling that Borussia Dortmund continues to be a top address for him and that he can still develop here.
“The decision has not yet been made, but I would bet €100 (£84.8) [on him staying].”
Haaland is one of the very best players in world football, so if we do make a move and get him for just £64 million, they will be signing a bargain that has the ability to score on a weekly basis every week
