Potential £65 million Chelsea signing will be great leader – fans told

Guehi
GETTI MAGES

CHELSEA would be getting a strong leader if they eventually re-sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi in the coming transfer windows, according to Manchester City’s Phil Foden.

The central defender has been captaining Palace in the absence of skipper Joel Ward, who has fallen out of favour under Oliver Glasner and has shown that he can be areal leader for the Eagles, and we have been linked with a January move for the defender.

Foden is one of many people who know Guehi’s footballing and personal qualities, having played alongside him during England’s run to the final of Euro 2024, and not only does Foden rate Guehi as a defender, he rates him as a leader

Speaking on the official England YouTube channel during the European Championship, the Manchester City ace said: “He [Guehi] has been a leader.

“I know him well from obviously playing with him and he’s not fazed by anything. I feel like he has come into the team and shown his qualities.”

Guehi is a quality player that has developed greatly over the past few seasons, he is ready to make that step up in the game and play for one of the big Premier League sides, he is certainly a player that could make an impact on that Enzo Maresca side.

So if we do manage to get a transfer deal done for the defender, he would be a welcome addition to the side, even for that £65 million asking price
