Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola thinks the Premier League title is wide open after seeing his side get beaten by Chelsea 2-0 on Saturday.
City had not been beaten until their shock Champions League loss to Lyon early in the season and looked like a side that were unbeatable until they can up against a reinvigorated Maurizio Sarri side, who showed the whole Premier League that City are beatable.
City may have had more of the possession and shots, but we had the quality and tactics to hand Guardiola his first Premier League loss of the season, and only his third in over 60 League games for the Champions.
The result puts us back in the top four spots and also reignites our chase to try and win the Premier League title at the end of the season, and after seeing Sarri get one over him, Guardiola has now claimed that the Premier League can be won by anyone this season.
Guardiola said on the Sky Sports website: “We are in December – if you [ask] me if Liverpool can win the Premier League, I will say yes.
“If you [ask] me right now in the position, Tottenham or Chelsea or Arsenal can win the Premier League, I will say yes. Everybody can win the Premier League.”[the_ad id=”164″]
Can we really challenge City for the title this season?
The answer is a big fat yes we can!
Sarri is still adapting to life in the Premier League and needs to get used to the fact that no game is an easy game, he has to have the lads on their very best form week in and week out.
Yes we have a number of things to work on still and getting back into the Champions League spots is the clubs main priority, but City are not as good as many people think and pressure will see cracks start to develop, we just need to keep picking up the wins.
