Chelsea transfer target Ryan Gravenberch has sparked a transfer frenzy by revealing he won’t be staying at Ajax when his contract expires.

He has appeared in over 90 games across all competitions for Ajax to date, scoring 10 goals, but only has 18 months left on his contract and a number of top European clubs have been credited with an interest in his services.

He has also contributed 11 assists while getting his hands on two Eredivisie titles and two KNVB Cups, and that is why Chelsea have been eyeing up a potential deal for the talented Ajax star in the coming windows.

Now, the club have been handed a massive boost after The midfielder declared that contract negotiations with the Dutch side have ground to a halt – opening the door for him to leave for free next year when his current deal ends.

Speaking to NOS, Gravenberch said: “The contract negotiations have now been stopped.

“I just have one more year of contract now and that’s it, really. We’ll see. My father and agent are very busy with [handling other clubs] while I focus on football.”
