Chelsea given green light to wrap up Gomes deal as exit confirmed by Solskjaer
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Chelsea target Angel Gomes is yet to sign a contract extension and looks set to leave Manchester United.
Frank Lampard is trying to put together one of the most exciting sides in the Premier League and is looking to add to that talent when the transfer window opens up in just a few weeks time.
There was speculation in the media suggesting that we are interested in trying to steal Gomes away from Manchester United in the summer, as the 19-year-old is out of contract with the Red Devils ends today, when he will be free to leave for nothing.
Now it seems that we have been given the green light to try and complete a deal for the exciting Gomes, after Solskjaer opened up and confirmed that the young man will not be leaving the club when his contract is up.
When asked if Gomes would be leaving the club, Solskjaer told Sky Sports: “I’ve not heard from him last night or this morning so it seems like they haven’t managed to agree anything.
“The answer is probably short – yes.”
A move away may be a good idea, but do we really need to offer the man that £35,000-a-week wages he is seeking when he hasnt even done anything in the game?
He is a very talented young player, but it seems that he has let greed get in the way of him developing into a top-class player, and we dont really want that at the club.
