Chelsea are one of several top teams linked with Borussia Monchengladbach defender Matthias Ginter this summer window.

Frank Lampard is a man that knows that this side need to be improved in key areas of the pitch over the next few months as he turns this side from champions League chasers to Premier League contenders.

And having one of the worst defences out of the Premier League’s top ten clubs, means that Lampard is eyeing up a number of potential deals that he could solve the issues at the back with.

And Sky Germany report that They are now interested in trying to secure a deal for German defender Ginter, who has developed into one of the most solid defenders in the Bundesliga over the past few seasons.

He is currently valued at around the £35-40 million mark, a fee that we should be able to afford if they do make a move, and although Monchengladbach do not want to let him leave, reports have claimed that they would be willing to let him go id the price is right.

“As a coach, you know what to expect from him,” national manager Joachim Low recently said about the young man

“He’s dependable and he’s able to do what we want him to do, which is to help build the play up from the back.

“He’s improved defensively too. He has a certain calmness about him, which is what makes him so solid, reliable and dependable.”

Look, Ginter is a solid defender that will be a very good signing, there is not much more to say about the man.
