Chelsea have been given a boost in their chase for Wilfried Zaha after he hinted that he is ready to leave Crystal Palace in search of Champions League football.
After a few years as a Manchester United winger, Zaha returned to Palace and reinvented his career to become one of the most exciting and attacking players in the Premier League.
That has led to much speculation that we were interested in a deal before the London based club stuck a massive price tag on the wingers head.
Zaha, who has scored eight goals in an impressive 2018-19 campaign, is keen to test himself at the highest level of club football and start regularly challenging for trophies.
Zaha said on the Sky Sports website: “I have to experience the Champions League. I just need the opportunity, that’s it. And I’ll do the rest.
“I’m too ambitious. And not ambitious just to play for a top club, but to win things at club level and with the Ivory Coast.
“For me to be better, to achieve what I know I am capable of, I have to aim to play at the very highest level, to win trophies.
“I’m blessed to have come this far in my playing career. But I feel like there is so much more I have to offer.”
Meanwhile, Leroy Sane has asked to leave Manchester City at the end of the season, following the Champions League loss to Tottenham.
City were still in the hunt to win everything this season as they faced a Tottenham side which were depleted by injuries, but Spurs managed to pull off a stunning aggregate win over the reigning Premier League Champions and reach the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time in their history.
Sane, who was voted the best young player in the Premier League last season, only came on for the final six minutes of the game against Spurs, leaving the talented young winger once again unhappy with the game time he has been receiving this season.
Pep Guardiola has a rotation policy at the Etihad that he believes keeps all his players happy, but Sane reportedly believes that he deserves to play in the bigger games on a regular basis, rather than coming off the bench and following his brief performance in the Champions League, El Chirinquito TV has claimed that he is one of a number of players that have now asked to leave the club.
And one club that may be interested in trying to complete a transfer deal for the winger is that of us with Maurizio Sarri a massive fan of the German and is in need of adding some more width to the side in the summer.
