Chelsea get potential new signing update – Boss delighted with Blues deal – President gives Chelsea chance sign striker

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news and gossip that we think you guys could have missed today –
Football.London reporter has given CHELSEA fans an update on the reports that Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise could sign this summer.
The transfer window is just a few days away and although the Blues have only just hired a new manager – there is still alot of transfer speculation surrounding the club and players that they could sign.
Olise enjoyed a productive season with Crystal Palace despite only playing 19 Premier League games due to an ongoing hamstring injury, as the winger struck 10 goals and provided six assists in the top-flight as Palace finished 10th under Oliver Glasner.
We attempted to trigger the 22-year-old’s release clause last summer but the player ultimately signed a new deal with Palace, but the Blues are expected to delve back into the transfer window for the Frenchman regardless if the new manager wants him.
But despite all the reports that the club are closing in a potential deal for Olise – Bobby Vincent has given the fans an update on the chase for the gifted French star.
He said: “On Olise, nothing ground-breaking to report unfortunately. The club have a long-term interest in Olise and thought they were close to signing him last summer but the complexity of the clause proved to be the stumbling block and then he ended up signing a new contract.
“In this new deal, there is a new clause that Chelsea (and other clubs) are hoping to understand before making a concrete move/offer.
“As it stands, nothing has been offered to Crystal Palace but CHELSEA are considering their options. You’ve got to remember, the transfer window does not officially open until tomorrow!”
SHERMAN-LOWE DEAL DONE –
Doncaster boss Grant McCann says plenty of homework has been done to ensure that goalkeeper Ted Sharman-Lowe is a perfect fit for the Rovers squad.
The 21-year-old has signed on a season-long loan from Premier League giants Chelsea. but goalkeeping coach Kyle Letheren was tasked with learning all about Sharman-Lowe, both on and off the pitch, with McCann impressed by his findings.
“We feel like we’re getting one of the best young up-and-coming goalkeepers in England. CHELSEA think really highly of him,” he told the Rovers website
“I think it’s a really nice fit – the way Teddy is as a person, his temperament and the way he plays as well. He’s very comfortable with the ball at his feet but not only that he’s a very good shotstopper, he’s good at coming out and commanding his area
“Kyle has sat me down and shown me all of this and I trust his judgement. Goalkeeper is a unique position He has to fit in to what we want to do.
“When me and Kyle sat down to speak about goalkeepers, we’d seen a lot of Teddy and we just think he fits us perfectly.
“He’s lived away from home for a while now so he’s grown up and matured now. It’s a good fit for us.
“I’m really pleased.”
But McCann is well aware that Sherman-Lowe knows that he will need to battle for his place in the side: “When you have a taste of it at senior level and then you go back to U23s, it’s not the same,” he added. “Teddy is ready for it.
“He wants to get himself up here and move up here. He’s ready to work hard and fight for the position.
“We’ve got four very good goalkeepers here now with Teddy, Lawsy, Louis and young Jake Oram.
“We’ve got really good competition, like we have across the team, and we’re strong in there.”
CHELSEA GET DAVID CHANCE –
Lille might just have given CHELSEA the chance to to try and sign striker Jonathan David this summer window.
The Canadian forward has emerged as a potential transfer target for the club over the past few months, as the Blues will be desperate to add a new striker to that attack when the summer transfer window opens up.
Ivan Toney of Brentford and Victor Osimhen of Napoli are two other players that the Blues are interested in – but David would represent a cheaper alternative to the other two as his valuations is only about £50 million.
And Lille now admit they are preparing for the 24-year-old to leave, as Club president Olivier Letang has admitted that the striker is free to leave this transfer window, alongside defender Leny Yoro, who is also linked with a move to United.
He said: “Leny Yoro and Jonathan David can leave the club this summer. Both have the ‘exit voucher’ due to their contract situation”
David recently provided an update on his future during his latest interview with French media lavoixdunord.
“I have a year left in my contract and frankly, I am not thinking about it. There were rumours in the past, but I will stay at Lille until I sign for another club,” said the Canadian striker.
His contract with Lille runs out in June 2025 but the striker is not aware of negotiations between his agent and the club.
“I don’t know if the club has spoken to my agent,” he said.
“Surely we’ll do it at the end of the season. There are important games remaining, and I want to focus on the pitch.”
