Chelsea transfer target Adrien Rabiot will not be signing a new contract at French giants PSG, after rejecting another contract.
The highly-rated Frenchman was one of the most sought after players in the transfer window, and has been linked with a move to us along with Barcelona and AC Milan before PSG put a heft price tag on his shoulders.
The French giants had hoped that they could convince Rabiot to stay put for another few years, as he is now developing into a top-class midfielder.
But the Sky Sports website has claimed that PSG president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has proposed a new salary of €9m (£7.9m) per year, up from the previous offer of €7m (£6.2m) but that still isn’t enough to persuade Rabiot to put pen to paper.
And now reports have claimed we will be very keen to acquire a player they have admired for nothing in 12 months time
Here is what we think.
There is no doubt that Maurizio Sarri is building a side that is capable of challenging for the Premier League title this season, and strength in depth is needed if we are to finish up the year with some silverware.
So event though we could possibly land Rabiot for nothing at the end of the season, I would not mind of the boss made a move and snapped him up for cheap in the January window as the lad is something special.
So if we can beat off most of the big clubs in Europe, then Rabiot would certainly add something different to the squad.
But the question would be is where he would fit in, considering our strongest area of the pitch is in midfield!?
